Research tells us that volunteering is good for you – ‘it makes you healthy and reduces stress’. In that case Bessie Garratty must be leaping around like a teenager after volunteering for Anglicare’s Bomaderry shop for 42 years! Bessie’s dedication was recently celebrated at a morning tea which honoured her in her retirement. Bessie, our beaming light for God, has been the backbone of the Bomaderry shop and to the rest of her community. With a humble heart, and open arms to hug anyone in need, Bessie’s smile was always a treasured greeting. Her co-workers will miss her, but wish her well as they continue to extend a helping hand to those in the Bomaderry community.

We also extend deepest thanks to another of our most loyal volunteers, Richard McNeil. Richard retired in May from the Anglicare Richmond shop after 17 years of dedicated service. He also celebrated his 95th birthday recently, and we thank him for his hard work and commitment to volunteering at Anglicare, and we pray that God continues to bless him.
