I would like to warmly thank our generous supporters for their donations to our Winter Appeal which was officially launched in May by Premier Mike Baird. We raised $466,000 on the night of the Dinner and since then we’ve been steadily receiving donations. We have now reached ⅔ of our $1.5 million target. These donations will fund our Emergency Relief centres and enable us to employ specialised case managers to meet the growing demand of clients with complex needs.
On 1 July we officially merge with Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV). This is a significant milestone in the history of our organisation. The newly merged organisation will have a strong focus on aged care and retirement living. However, I want to reassure our donors that Anglicare will continue to focus on meeting the needs of the disadvantaged in our community, and in the long term further strengthen this aspect of our work.
Those of you who regularly donate to our community services or who have left a bequest to Anglicare can rest assured your money will always fund the services and programs you choose to support.
This year marks Anglicare’s 160th Anniversary. I am thankful to God for the legacy given to us by godly men and women who have directed and supported Anglicare’s work since 1856. Our newly merged organisation can look ahead with confidence as we continue to show the love of Jesus Christ in words and actions.
