Over the last three months I've had the opportunity to visit more than 70 per cent of our newly merged organisation, meeting our staff and seeing their work. It's been so heartening to see our staff members live out our Mission as they seek to 'serve people in need; enrich lives; and share the love of Jesus.'
Since the official merger on 1 July we've made great progress consolidating the two organisations, while ensuring uninterrupted care of clients and residents. This is primarily due to our employees' collaboration, patience and hard work.
We've formed our Senior Executive Team and developed a five year plan which the Board has been pleased to confirm. As you might imagine we have an extensive list of projects in order to fully integrate the two organisations which will take up to two years to achieve.
Anglicare is committed to providing Community Services to people in need. Thank you again for partnering with us in our work to share the love of Jesus in word and action. We value your continuing support, your prayers and generous donations. There may be times as Christians when we feel discouraged or overwhelmed by the constancy of the need surrounding us. On those occasions I'm reminded of Paul's letter to the Corinthians where he says that we should persist in doing good, because our labour in Christ’s name is never in vain. This is an enormous encouragement as we work together for His Kingdom.
'Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain'.
