Following the closure of Kingsdene School, ANGLICARE will continue its tradition of unique care in a new initiative called the Kingsdene Respite Cottage.
The Respite Cottage, with your support, will provide short-term day and overnight ‘crisis relief’ for parents of children with severe intellectual disabilities when they need it most. The unbearable stress on parents caring for children with severe intellectual disabilities can build to a crisis.
Yet just the hope of a break for a few days and nights, or for a weekend, can help stop a stressed family from breaking apart.
Please help ANGLICARE set up the Respite Cottage and fill an urgent unmet need in the community. This program will be able to help around a hundred families each year, but the level of support and the number of families and children we can help will depend on your donations.
