Peter leaves behind a strong legacy of changing lives and growing communities through Jesus Christ – and partnering with supporters like you!
Making Christ’s love real through the care that changes lives
As CEO from 2004 to June 2011, Peter Kell established a firm foundation for future growth and development. He leaves behind a legacy of transformation, growth and change.
Peter said; “We need to continue to be a voice for those who have none, provide refuge for the vulnerable, and show compassion for those in need wherever we find them. As indeed Christ has done for us.”
The change in each of ANGLICARE’s divisions, under Peter’s leadership, has been dramatic.
Here are just a few examples:
In Community Care. There has been a dramatic growth in Community Care services with the addition of a new range of programs including Family Relationship Centres, Early Intervention Services, Reconnect and the Personal Helpers and Mentors Case Management Program for people with mental health issues.
In Chesalon Services. There has been a dramatic expansion of Day Centres, often in partnership with parishes, and other services as we reach out to support families dealing with ageing, dementia, increasing frailty, isolation and disconnection from the community. For Chesalon Care it has meant the rebuilding and refurbishment of residential aged care facilities. The establishment of Chesalon Living at Oran Park is a move into a continuum of care model of service delivery with an increasing focus on supporting people to maintain independent living as long as possible.
In Advocacy & Partnerships. In 2009 there was the establishment of a fourth division in ANGLICARE – Advocacy and Partnerships. This division has an intentional focus on building and strengthening parish partnerships and providing an effective platform for advocacy to government and the wider community.
